Who Needs a Hotel Phone When VoIP Phone Is Around

by admin on January 18, 2010

Though telecommunication industry provided us with traditional phones, or for that matter, mobile phones to accommodate our calling needs when we are on a go, nevertheless the calling charges or roaming charges when traveling abroad are not pocket-friendly. Because of the costly calling rates, it became unbearable for many to be able to pay for their calls. Seeing this aspect, researchers and scientists brought in a phone that works using high-speed broadband internet. These devices were called internet phones or Voip (Voice Over Internet Protocols) phone. An internet phone lets you enjoy an ever better calling facility with excellent quality of service, which has drastically changed people’s minds, who now have switched to using an internet phone instead of traditional phones. Perhaps, the biggest benefit everyone saw in Voip was the cost-effectiveness and affordability factor. Now, people use voip phones for residential or business needs. An internet phone perhaps gives the perfect phoning solution to small businesses who found it difficult to manage their communication needs in the prevailing times.

Voip uses various sets of protocols, which enable giving out the excellent service that we get. Session Initiation Protocol or SIP is one of the finest protocols used in Voip services and is in fact more progressively becoming the standard modus operandi, which enables computers to easily be used as a communication facility for an internet phone. So you can imagine SIP as a common language for new generation operators to speak to connect calls.

Initially, the primary function of SIP was to offer Voip users with numerous functions and useful features typically required for making calls, personalizing ring tones, hearing the ring back tone when a call is put through, and helped in the dialing number process. Today SIP has undergone developments to offer various advanced features. In spite of having an expedient interface for enabling making a phone call, SIP is in fact an internet protocol rather than something belonging to a telephone industry and works efficiently along with other internet protocols. SIP helps you in locating the IP address of ‘location’ of the person who is calling you, which can be of great help, especially in times of emergency or intrusion of voip phishing or malware. SIP also helps in building coordination between different participants in determining the calling features will be required, in addition to providing the call management protocol for coordinating adding in, dropping out, or even transferring calling members.

Therefore, we can say that SIP is a potential facilitator in helping out people with ultimate call savings. When staying at a hotel, you obviously would call using the hotel’s telephone service, but when you see the phone bill, your mouth drops open on seeing the calling cost, which in fact is way too much than expected. That is one irritating moment for me at least. Paying $2.00 for a local call is beyond excruciating. If a simple local call is charged this much, imagine the tormenting situation for those who need to make long-distance or international calls from hotels? What about those, who ask for conference calling facilities to discuss business or office matters with clients of employees. The hotel charges you with unimaginably high rates.

With internet phones and SIP as an important fragment, you can enjoy making calls at affordable rates, without having to hire the hotel room’s service you stay at. Since, an internet phone – as the name indicates – requires high-speed internet to enable making calls, therefore the calls you make are potentially low costing. That’s because the internet itself is a low costing service. Just like sending an email to a friend or family member away from you, you send it for absolutely free; similarly, you can make phone local, long-distance or international calls using SIP without being charged. So, if you have an internet phone with SIP at your disposal, you can easily make free calls to family, friends back at home or discuss significant official matters with clients or even make calls to your business clients regardless of their location and not worry about paying your hotel for calling services. Who needs the hotel phone when you have your Voip phone with you at all times? This way you can save a lot of your calling costs and hotel stay rent. Enjoy Voiping.

If VoIP is there, no need at all to go for other phones. WE are not mad to spend huge money on the calling.

I always prefer to call from VoIP. Why to waste a huge money on calling from other phones. In hotels, you may also go for calling over VoIP.
