Did you know that with your VoIP Phone Service you can easily add multiple lines? Well, if you don’t believe it after reading this article, you sure will and I bet the next thing you do would be getting yourself a very own Voip phone service.
VoIP or Internet phone service is the latest innovation in the field of telecommunications, which has made the world a small village – everyone can connect with anyone living in some other corner of the world.
Among many benefits you can get out of using a Voip phone service, one of them is the availability to add multiple phone lines quite easily. Gone are the days, when you had only one phone in the house. Every time the phone rang you had to run downstairs to attend the call while you are upstairs, and the minute you reach the phone, well, the call ends.
As I said, Voip gives a convenience without much wires and a scattered look around the house. Here is what you can do to get the multiple phone system in your house:
• You can use a jack connector for multiple extensions for this purpose, which is the easiest method. All you need to do is plug it into your Voip service Adapter (ATA) and there you have it, multiple phones on a one line. Though, the only drawback in adopting this method is that the phone connections will be located onto your ATA device, which makes it inflexible in distributing it all over your home.
• With digital cordless phones, you can easily distribute your VoIP phone service all over your home where you need it. Digital cordless phones are easily compatible with your needs either at home or office and they are not very expensive to purchase either. Cordless phone systems come along with a base unit, which plugs directly within your VoIP service ATA. The additional wireless handsets can then easily be placed in whichever room you need it to be in, thus providing the convenience for communication.
• You can also use wireless or cordless phone jacks with your phone system at home. A base unit is directly connected to your VoIP phone ATA. After you have it connected, wireless jacks can then be plugged into your home electrical outlets wherever you want the phone set to be available in your home. You can connect your additional phones to a wireless jack and start using your VoIP phone service from any location within your home or office premises.
• Although, there are many people who use their traditional phone’s wiring and extensions to use for their VoIP phone service but you cannot directly plug the ATA right into the jack, since the landline phones have a heavy voltage on the wiring, for making the ‘ringing’ sound when someone calls. This can cause serious damage to your Voip phone service. Although this can be done only if you disconnect your landline telephone phone wiring. Once the phone line is disconnected, you can easily plug the ATA directly into one of the existing phone extensions. This way you can easily distribute the VoIP phone service to all other phone extensions in your home.
If you want to try this, it is better to ask a technician to manage this for you. It is also recommended that you test out the cables on the phone jacks to ensure there isn’t any voltage on the jacks before you plug in your VoIP ATA. To test that, you can try a simple tester for checking the phone line.
I hope this works well for you.
Enjoy Voiping, right away!
