VoIP Phone – Nothing Like It!

by admin on December 30, 2009

What is VoIP? VoIP is what you need – that’s for sure! Internet phone service or digital phone service or VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone service is undoubtedly one of the latest and greatest technologies in the telecom business.

VoIP allows you to communicate with people- regardless of where their location is. Whether, you want to make a call to South Africa or Argentine you can easily make a call without worrying much about the call costs. Why is that so? That’s because VoIP calling costs are so low and reasonably priced that anyone can afford it. VoIP phone is the idyllic phone system to make local, long distance and international calls.

This technology digitizes your voice and sends it across a digital phone network via high-speed internet connection. All you’ll need to make your VoIP low-costing calls, is a speedy broadband connection and you can easily make PC-to-PC calls or, PC-to-Phone calls, around the world, anytime. The biggest difference between VoIP phones and traditional phone services is the cost of calls, since VoIP calls let you enjoy the same voice quality as you can with other services yet the cost is three times less. Secondly, traditional phone services offer features such as call waiting, caller ID, call rejection, 3 way-calling, voicemail, and so much more but, unfortunately, you are charged extra for using these features.
Now, take a look at VoIP phone; VoIP service providers offer a calling service with these features at no supplementary fee.

VoIP service isn’t just about making and receiving calls. You can easily surf through internet, send/receive emails, send/receive files, and even arrange for virtual meetings with your business associates and clients using the audio and video call conferencing facility.

Internet phone service has so much to offer and so less to charge. VoIP providers offer calling plans for your convenience and suitability, which follow two distinct ways – either unlimited calling plans or bulk calling plans.

In bulk calling plans, you are provided with a certain limit of minutes to utilize for making and receiving calls. In case, your limit is exceeded, then you might be charged extra for every call you make. Unlimited calling plans, on the other hand, are charged only once for limitless calls and limitless calling minutes. You can choose any plan, which suits your calling needs.

Internet phone service has another advantage apart from cost-effectiveness – flexibility. No matter where you are, your VoIP phone’s mobility lets you make and receive calls if you have access to a high-speed internet. Simply, log into your VoIP account and start calling right away. In fact you can even have a VoIP service integrated within your mobiles so you can stay in touch with your friends, family and business associates.

VoIP services offer an un-compromised voice quality and QoS. You are even facilitated with an E-911 emergency calling facility to make calls in case of crises but as there are so many advantages, there are a few disadvantages also. VoIP phone runs with an internet connection. You will not be able to use your internet phone service without sufficient bandwidth, which means if your VoIP goes down, you will not be able to make 911-emergency calls.

Nevertheless, VoIP’s calling facility still is more reliable and ten times better in quality and service than a traditional phone. Owing to the ultimate calling experience internet phone services provides, people have already started a switch over residential VoIP and business VoIP plans.
